Welcome to the Empire
Up coming Short Episode
Living with a loving family had always lift my spirit up especially when times were hard back then, but my cherished childhood memories were mostly watching cartoons with my siblings. My ambitions and interests were focused on creating my very own animated series for kids and teens. Cartoon animations for a long time have been an inspiration for me such as Invader Zim, Adventure Time, Grim’s adventures of Billy and Mandy etc. were truly astonishing to bring out the best in people as they say comedy is the best medicine. I always had this intense fascination on animation and how they developed them, so I studied media to understand the outline on how to produce animated films just like how Disney, Cartoon Network and other channels that had managed to create their entertainment enterprise. The goal of this project is to make a simple successful pilot cartoon on an average budget where it does not require too much time or need many people to finish the project. The design of the first cartoon pilot will be developed via Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Audition including Blender and Toon Boom Harmony. Recruitment can include classmates from Wollongong university or outside of it such as contacts from colleagues, family or friends, but must have good experiences in working in groups and have a basic understanding on animation. Members must form a group session arrangement in nominating candidates and looking into the nominee’s background check before applying them into the project. When the nominee(s) proves to be suitable for a role within the group then they can be integrated as a member. The project will be managed by each team members based on their field of experiences and skill sets to create the essential parts in completing the entire short pilot episode. Any problems like inconvenient processes which are not working effectively can be reevaluated by the team to improve the workflow for the project and see how it can be added for the new strategy. Members of the project can transfer files via digital communication in transmitting concept images in Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp and Microsoft Outlook. Teams can exchange suggestions on how the premise of the animated pilot should be planned out and how much time should be spent. Any adjustments for planning will be put into debate by the team in forming suggestions for layouts and strategies to improve success rates in accomplishing steps or other variables to consider. The design layouts of the cartoon pilot will be developed via Microsoft words, Adobe Illustrator, Premiere, Photoshop, Audition including Blender and Toon Boom Harmony. For storyboard each team must post downloadable story illustrations in Microsoft Word format then transfer them as compressed Zip files for easier access via Microsoft Outlook for the members to evaluate. Notification can be sent to each member via email such as WhatsApp or Outlook for a secession meeting in the workshop. Teammates will exchange ideas over the storyboard for developing the screen time and introduction of the pilot episode. Storyboard presentation will be examined and discussed within the group to recap sections on how to manage the storyline and how the characters will play their part. The pilot episode will include sound audio from royalty free soundtracks, sound effects and voice acting. The group will decide on who will voice act as the characters based their experiences in acting. Final stage in completing the pilot will be done in Adobe Premiere for editing and mixing the audio. Upon completing the groundworks of the project requires the team to input their debate over the pilot for final analyses to decide whatever to make any changes before making the official release. Twitter and Instagram are the best way to access feedbacks where reviews will be collected based from comments, ratings and views. The best way to raise awareness are via YouTube and Twitter which are the most popular sites to get feedbacks from views, ratings and reviews. The aim for the pilot episode is mainly comedy about school life where teens always go through their typical social life. Not everything can be planned through because there can be probable setbacks such as technical errors on rewriting the storyboard premise, managing on the entire animation before deadline or the short pilot episode won’t have good ratings and less views to kickstart the project. However, when push comes to shove it’s not about doing the hard way than doing the smart way by thinking things through before making the journey. It maybe difficult at first but putting faith into creative ideas and planning can put together a successful animated cartoon.
